Best Pool Safety Cover Sale in Massachusetts: Same Mesh as Loop-Loc, $1,500 Installed

Short version: a mesh safety cover for a rectangle inground pool, hardware, anchors and installation, for $1,500. I sell the cover at my cost and you pay for the install. Most pool companies charge $3,000 to $4,500 for the same job. Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, this fall. Call (978) 710-8667, Sarah picks up, quotes it, and books you about two weeks out. A $500 deposit holds your date.

I’ve been installing safety covers pretty much since Loop-Loc invented them

Loop-Loc was the safety cover. Then the two owners had a falling out and Meyco showed up. Then Latham. Then Merlin. Then everybody else. I’ve had every one of them in my hands, on real pools, in real New England Octobers, and here is the thing nobody in this business will say out loud: it’s the same mesh. Same material, same weave, same kind of warranty. The name on the box is the only part that’s different, and it’s the part you pay extra for.

Most of what a pool company charges you for a safety cover isn’t the cover at all. It’s the markup on the cover, and then the install on top of it. I haven’t done any laboratory tests, but i’ve seen how they all hold up, and there is no difference.

What actually makes a good safety cover last

It’s the installation that matters the most. What do I mean by that?

  • If your spring tension is to tight or uneven it will either one: pull at the cover at angles it is not designed to withstand, or two; when a snow load is added the steel springs will stretch out in not break
  • If the water is too low in the pool when you close your pool for the winter, the cover will stretch and possibly rip or a spring or two will break. Water is there to support the winter snow and ice load, never cover an empty pool or one with the water further than 15 inches from the top.
  • Never store it in a hot shed or where mice and chipmunks can get at it, or your cover will have holes in it. if you cover is folded nicely like it should be, when mice eat through it and you unfold it you will have several holes in a pattern.

The sale: covers at my cost, $1,500 installed

I’m not going to dress this up. This fall I’m buying Vevor mesh safety covers at $356 and selling them to you at $356. What you’re paying me for is the install: two of us, the hammer drill (it eats $70 bits), the anchors and hardware, the fuel to get to you, the insurance, and about two to three hours on your deck. All in, $1,500. Massachusetts adds $22.25 sales tax on the cover, so $1,522.25. New Hampshire is $1,500 flat, because the cover ships straight to your house.

That’s half to a third of what everyone else charges. It might look like a lot of profit for an afternoon. It isn’t, once the crew, the truck, the tools and the insurance are paid. It’s fair, and it’s honest, and I’d rather do two of these a day than one at $4,000.

Who this is for

  • A rectangle inground pool. A rectangle with stairs or a bump-out a stock cover.
  • Concrete, pavers or stone around the pool. Wood decks need a different anchor, so I look at those first.
  • Massachusetts, or the New Hampshire towns just over the line.

How to book it

Call (978) 710-8667. Sarah, our receptionist, picks up any time of day or night. Tell her it’s for the cover deal. She’ll ask the size of the pool and what’s around it, quote the price, and book the first open date that works for you, at least two weeks out. Right after the call you get a text and an email with the deposit link. $500 holds your date, the balance is due the day we install, and I call before the date to confirm the time.

Two add-ons on the deposit page if you want them: a basic pool closing the same visit ($300, labor only), and trim collars around every anchor ($100 a set), because drilling always chips the edge of the paver and the collar hides it.

Do it yourself? Here are the covers I install

Questions people ask

What’s the warranty? The manufacturer’s warranty. The paperwork comes in the box with the cover.

Is it as safe as a Loop-Loc? It’s the same mesh, and the anchors are the same brass anchors. The safety is in the anchors and the tension, and that’s the part I’m doing.

My pool isn’t a plain rectangle. Call anyway. Freeform, kidney, a raised wall, a spa, a bump-out for the steps: I do those, they’re measured to the pool, and I price them myself.

Buying a new pool instead? Buy a rectangle fiberglass pool from us this fall and the safety cover and installation are included. Details here.
