I would put our Dauntless, Atlas, and Lamark models up against any steel wall above-ground pool in the entire country, including high end Doughboy models, and of course our Aquasport 52 is in a class by itself!
Of course, if you have looked into it, you know the Aquasport 52 model is the best above-ground/semi inground pool on the planet. It is incredibly versatile and sturdy. And does not require a cement collar be pored at the base like most inground and semi-inground pools.

Next Please Choose a Pool Size
All the swimming pool liners, and such, vary in price based on size. So. as soon as you choose a pool size, all prices are adjusted accordingly.
21-rounds, 24-rounds and 15×30’s are the most popular above-ground pool sizes. When considering the best size and value for your money, know the 15 x 30 cost more than a 21 or 24 round to purchase, and even more to build/assemble/install, but it is only slightly larger than a 21 and is smaller than the 24-round. Making the 24 the best bang for your buck. But my partner wants an oval… I get it!
Please Choose Frame Color – Dauntless and Atlas Swimming Pools Only
The Lamark framing only comes in white, so if you select the Lamark, you will not even see this field. The next section you will see is, Please Choose a Wall Pattern/Design (Step 4).
The Atlas pool framing comes in four colors, so if you choose an Atlas, you should select your color preference to match the pool wall you will pick next.
The Aquasport 52 is only available in a gorgeous rich creamy white color. So again skip to choose a liner.
White is available in every model. White pools look larger than any other color, and they match any pool liner print, or pool wall pattern, also as all colors fade in the sun, white holds it’s beauty the longest. Our resin white pools have extra sunscreen so they don’t ever yellow like some white resins do.
NEXT – Select a Wall Pattern for Your New Pool
We have eight steel wall patterns to choose from and three aluminum. The Tribal Stone and Wheat Patterns are available in both steel and aluminum. You can select any of these walls for the Lamark, or the Atlas, though choosing an aluminum wall will add to the cost of your pool package.
The Dauntless is all aluminum, so you will only see aluminum wall options, we do not offer steel walls for our Dauntless. One of the cool features of the Dauntless pool is that it comes with feature strips that slide into the uprights and top-rails that match the pool wall. Every time you bend metal you make it stronger, this is why our top rails and vertical posts are extruded aluminum. Metal is just more rigid and stronger than resin, facts!
We do not sell any low-end or foreign pool walls. All my pool walls get made from the best US metals available. I our aluminum (From Canada) is thicker than any other manufacturers. We buy the highest grade American US steel to make MGK Pools steel pool-walls. I do not sell any entry level pools, even if you think so based on our low prices.
Choose a Pool Liner
I feel the importance of this component is under-rated. We sell Swimline’s Perma 2500 grade pool liners and have for a long time. These are full print universal beaded liners. We don’t offer any plain blue, or overlap liners, or other cheap entry level options that you’ll then need to upgrade.
Some online stores call perma 2500 liners 30 gauge which of course means nothing, neither does Perma, as these are not measurements. Pool liners are measured in mil’s which stands for a thousandth of an inch. While Swimline does not advertise their mil, i believe these to be about 17 mil. You could buy a 20 mil, but I believe the 17 is better for above ground pools. I’ve installed enough 20 mil liners to know it doesn’t offer any more strength but makes installation much more difficult. You can actually buckle the pool wall, not to mention getting packing wrinkles out is very difficult.
You probably didn’t know most pool stores buy stock pool liners, generic of the rack and package them with pool kits they bought from another manufacturer, and that they don’t always fit well.
Pool liners that fit correctly last longer and look better in the pool. Of course, ordering tailored pool liners cost more than buying off the shelf, which is why many pool stores just package what’s available. We have all these liners custom manufactured to fit our pools like a glove.
Filter / Pump Combo Packages
Top “value” option is our 120 sq ft cartridge filter system with the 2-speed pump. We assemble these filters at the factory. We buy Chinese filter housings and then put in a Unicel cartridge. The combo with the two-speed pump comes with premium hoses, and two gate valves, along with a pressure gauge, and filter/pump stand. This system should not get matched with pools larger than 15×30 or 24 round. I personally like this system better than systems with a Hayward pump. I am not a fan of the Hayward Matrix 2 speed pump.
If you can splurge a little, of course the Hayward XStream 150 filter is a little better and will work with any size pool.
Q: What is an Inground Pump?
A: It is a self priming pool pump designed to lift water, as these pumps are typically above or higher than the water level. Also, They circulate water at 80 gallons per minute.
Q: What is an above ground pump?
A: An above ground pump has to be below or lower than the water level, as these pumps are not self priming, meaning they are feed by gravity. These pumps circulate water at 30-35 gallons per minute (GPM).
Q: Can I use a pump for an inground pool with an above ground filter?
A: YES! However, you must never run the pump over half speed as it will beat up the above ground filter only designed to handle 30-40 GPM.

Above-Ground Pool Ladders and Steps
If you plan on building a deck right away, you will want to go with the drop in steps, or candy cane shaped ladder. Otherwise, I highly recommend the Confer 7200 with security roll cage and lock. This year we introduce the Confer Curve Drop-in Step.. I much prefer my MGK drop-in step that comes with weights over the new sexy looking Confer Curve.
The King step is the best, and it is made by Merlin Industries. It’s a little pricy but worth the one time investment. This step is costly to ship, and since I offer free shipping to most, I’ve had to mark this up higher than you may find it elsewhere online to not lose money.
Above-Ground Pool Package – Accessories
In this section, you can choose more than one item. You can select one, or all. You build out your accessories and maintenance package the way you like. I offer a nine-piece pro maintenance kit. The Elie kit is the actual professional grade cleaning equipment I use in the field, vacuum hose and all. Also, the elite comes with winterizing covers for above ground skimmer and return hole.
Add pool cleaners, pool lights, and erosion feeders in this section. Everything is at, or close to my cost, some items even priced lower after I ship them to you. True story! I make my profit on the pool, then use my and my manufacturer partners buying power to get you all the pool accessories as cheap as possible.
I’ve added electrical pool bonding kits for above ground and inground pools. Electricians charge an arm and a leg to bond pools, so i make these available now too. You pool will not pass electrical inspection without being properly bonded.
